Intro to UX Design Course

Watch Vanessa Yap’s Story

Hi! My name is Vanessa. Completing the EdUp UX Design course has helped me secure my current role as a Project Analyst at Visa’s Design and Architecture team.

Why did you decide to learn UX Design at EdUp?

I've always been interested in how we can understand consumer needs better and propose ideas to address those needs. I took the UX Design course mainly to upskill and learn the importance of bringing the voice of customers into products.

The UX Design course was fulfilling as I’ve gained a better understanding of the end-to-end user experience design process. It made me realize the importance of evidence-based design decisions and user-centered thinking. My course instructor was very professional and effective in bringing across key concepts of UX design even though all the lessons were conducted virtually.

How has the course helped land your current role at VISA?

My previous role as a Product Analyst was where I assessed the readiness of products which includes looking at the UI/UX of products. When evaluating those products, the understanding of how the products will address users’ needs is important.

My interest in UX Design prompted me to take on my new role as a Project Analyst at Visa’s Design and Architecture Team - where my daily scope includes managing the product design and development process while overseeing the ideation to commercialization phases of products. The knowledge I’ve gained from the UX Design course has definitely given me an edge during the interview to secure the role.
